Remanufactured Herman Miller Workstations, Re-form Custom Furniture

This project involved a new client for Re-form.  This particular company owns three large buildings in Hunt Valley, Maryland.  Before this project they sat in old workstations and random casegoods handed down from previous owners.  The idea they came to the table with was to redo spaces in their buildings to modernize and optimize.  The first space we tackled was an open office used for tech gurus who needed to work individually on occasion, but more frequently, collaboratively.  Before we were handed the project, the techs sat at rectangular desks pushed up against and facing the walls.  Basically, they sat with their backs to each other and a large, unused open space in the center.  After hearing the needs of the users, we came up with a more workable plan.  It included, Remanufactured Herman Miller workstations with a desk and a return, two pedestals, an overhead storage unit, frosted short divider panels and a large conference like table in the center of the room where they could simply roll their chairs to and collaborate when necessary.  We also added a full panel wall of Remanufactured Herman Miller workstation parts with a door that allowed them to have their privacy as a group from the rest of the company.  It took the Re-form Installation team less than one day to install the entire setup.

Remanufactured Herman Miller workstations included wall mounted overheads, pedestals and frosted dividers The project consisted of (8) 7×7 L-Shaped Remanufactured Herman Miller free-standing worksurfaces with metal legs, refurbished pedestals and wall mounted overheads that came from our stock of Herman Miller used systems furniture and were remanufactured for use by this client. The customer selected their own laminate, fabric and paint finishes with the help of a Re-form designer. We installed surface mounted 12” high frosted plexi to divide each station and add the essence of privacy. This particular setup gave each person the feeling of their own space in an open configuration.  They also had plenty of storage and worksurface space for multiple computers and personal belongings.  Each workstation also contained an Office Source black mesh back task chair which was purchased new by Re-form.

Conference Room Furniture

To accommodate the collaborative factor, the Re-form woodshop designed and built a custom rectangular conference table and installed it on m.o.d. Silver metal legs.  The laminate and trim on the table matched the laminate and the paint on the Remanufactured Herman Miller stations.

To allow the group to have privacy from the rest of the office, we used Remanufactured Herman Miller workstation panels and a door which had fabric chosen by the client and trim to match the stations within.  The Re-form installation team mounted the panels in a wall-to-wall fashion giving the feeling of a constructed office, but allowing for easy removal if ever necessary.
